Odds favoring Peddi: It’s Ram Charan’s game to lose from here
For the third consecutive year, Tollywood has successfully wasted the potential of the summer season with no biggies lined up for release. Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s Peddi indeed wasted a golden date like April 30 due to pending work, leaving the summer window unexciting and dull for the exhibition sector.
Initially announced for release in March 2026, the release has been pushed to April due to a delay in production. Once again, the release window has been changed, and this time the wait will be long for fans, with the sports drama arriving only in June 2026. The makers cited post-production as the reason behind the second postponement.
Why multiple postponements are indeed a blessing in disguise for Peddi:
Generally, when a high-profile project is repeatedly postponed, there is a high chance the film will lose out on the audience’s interest and attention. This has happened with Ram Charan’s very own Game Changer, too. But with Peddi, things won’t be the same. This year, among the six Tollywood top-tier heroes, only Prabhas’ The Raja Saab has hit the screens, and even it was a massive failure.
When there is a significant period of non-activity in the industry with no release of top hero films, the craving among people for big-scale entertainment will hit a new peak, and this is the very reason why Peddi stands in a much-favorable position. In fact, Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam also benefited from the slump in the industry during 2018, but it will be unfair if we don’t credit its extraordinary content in the success.
The huge gap between the release windows of Peddi and The Raja Saab will surely bolster the openings of Ram Charan starrer by a mammoth margin. Peddi is one of the most-hyped projects from Tollywood, with every asset of Buchi Babu Sana’s directorial striking a chord with the audience. The association with AR Rahman, Janhvi Kapoor, Shiv Rajkumar, and Mirzapur fame Divvyendu Sharma are additional attractions.
It’s Peddi’s game to lose from here:
The odds are truly in favor of Ram Charan’s film. Apart from the special song, the shoot is done. Until and unless the Peddi team commits a huge blunder before release or if the content is not up to the mark, the movie is set to emerge as a box office phenomenon.
