The makers have officially unveiled Rashmika Mandanna as M.S. Subbulakshmi with the launch announcement for the film, titled M.S. – A Legacy on Screen. The film is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music. Allu Aravind, Bunny Vasu and Rockline Venkatesh are backing the ambitious project.
The film will be officially launched on September 16 in Chennai, coinciding with the 110th birth anniversary of M.S. Subbulakshmi. The event will have Kamal Haasan as the chief guest, while the Indian Choral Ensemble will pay a musical tribute to the legendary singer by performing some of her iconic songs.
For Rashmika, portraying M.S. Subbulakshmi is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious and challenging assignments of her career. Subbulakshmi, who was awarded the Bharat Ratna, remains one of India’s most revered musical icons. Interestingly, she also had a notable connection with cinema, having acted in films including Sevasadanam, Sakuntalai, Savithiri and the acclaimed Meera.
