The usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for creating music has been rapidly increasing in the Indian film industry. AR Rahman recreated the voices of late singers Bamba Bakya and Shahul Hameed for a track in Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam. He received backlash from a section of people.
Before that, Hesham Abdul Wahab used AI for a song in Nani’s recent blockbuster Hi Nanna. On the other hand, Vivek Sagar’s use of AI to recreate the late legend SP Balasubrahmanyam’s voice in Keedaa Cola landed the team in hot water.
The latest to use AI for creating music is MM Keeravaani, the man who won an Oscar for Naatu Naatu (RRR). His next release is Love Me – If You Dare, starring Ashish Reddy and Vaishnavi Chaitanya. During the film’s audio launch event, Dil Raju revealed that Keeravaani used AI for composing the whole song Ghost Love, making history as the first Telugu music director to use AI vocals for an entire song.
Produced by Harshith Reddy, Hanshitha Reddy, and Naga Mallidi, this project boasts the legendary talents of PC Sreeram as the cinematographer. Stay tuned for more updates as the film gears up for a grand release on April 25, 2024.
