Whether in India or the US, a significant number of individuals subscribe to Amazon Prime for its free delivery perk and the seamless streaming of numerous series and movies on Prime Video. However, starting today, Prime Video users may encounter a bumpier experience.
In September, Amazon unveiled its intention to incorporate ads into its Prime Video service on January 29, 2024, and that day has now arrived. As promised, Amazon has initiated the display of ‘minimal’ ads for its Prime subscribers. Those displeased with this new addition must pay an extra $3 per month for an ad-free experience on the OTT platform.
While this move benefits Amazon, it has encountered opposition from many users. Currently implemented in the US, UK, Canada, and Germany, the reaction of Indian Prime Video users remains uncertain if Amazon decides to introduce ads within the content.
