Karthi’s Vaa Vaathiyaar (aka Annagaru Vostaru), which was set to release alongside Akhanda 2 on December 12, was postponed at the last minute due to financial issues. This sudden announcement came as a big shock to fans and movie buffs.
As per a report in Pink Villa, the delay has put the film’s OTT deal in jeopardy. Amazon Prime Video holds the post-theatrical streaming rights to Vaa Vaathiyaar, and as per the report if the release is pushed beyond this month, the platform may back out, leaving the OTT deal in limbo.
The latest buzz suggests the makers are eyeing a Christmas 2025 release, though an official announcement is awaited. Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, the film stars Krithi Shetty and is produced by Studio Green. Santosh Narayanan is the music composer.
