Bollywood courtroom drama Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, a sequel to Kesari, was released across the world yesterday. As the title hints, the film attempts to uncover the hidden facts of one of the most tragic historical events in India’s independence struggle. The film is expected to have opened with a Rs 7 crore nett at the Indian box office on Friday.
Kesari Chapter 2’s digital premiere rights have been acquired by popular OTT platform Jio Hotstar. Apparently, the film’s digital rights have been sold for a whopping Rs 105 crore. The film is expected to have its digital premiere on or around June 20 tentatively.
Kesari Chapter 2 features Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, Ananya Panday, Regina Cassandra, and others in lead roles. The film is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and others.
