Manjummel Boys, despite lacking star power, have etched its name in Mollywood history as the highest-grossing film to date, owing to its gripping narrative. Directed by Chidambaram, the film is now available for streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar in multiple languages including Telugu.
Following its OTT debut yesterday, two scenes have sparked widespread discussion. One highlights the seamless transition from the childhood innocence of Sreenath Bhasi’s character, Subhash, to a gripping cave encounter. Praised as a cinematic marvel, it’s hailed as one of the finest transitions in Indian cinema.
Another standout moment features the poignant use of popular ‘Kammani’ song from Kamal Haasan’s ‘Guna’ while the boys rescue Subhash in the climax. These two scenes have captivated OTT audiences, with some expressing regret for missing the theatrical experience.
Featuring stellar performances by Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S Poduval, Lal Jr., and others, the film is produced by Soubin Shahir, Babu Shahir, and Shawn Antony under the Parava Films banner. Sushin Shyam’s soundtrack adds depth to the narrative.
