Released in 1989, Nagarjuna, Amala, and Raghuvaran’s campus drama, Shiva, went on to create history in Indian cinema. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the film was a huge blockbuster at the box office and continues to enjoy cult status.
Shiva was remastered in 4K resolution and was released in cinemas worldwide a few weeks ago. The iconic film’s re-release was celebrated by fans, who went on to give it a huge reception. Now, after the silver screens, Shiva is all set to hit the OTT world soon.
Addressing the media at IFFI 2025, Nagarjuna confirmed that efforts are on to release Shiva 4K on an OTT platform to ensure a wide release for the film. Shiva was produced under the Annapurna Studios banner, with the musical legend Ilaiyaraaja composing the timeless audio album.
