At the Indian box office, the Gujarati film Laalo – Shree Krishna Sada Sahaayate turned out to be a dark horse. Its dream run even surprised trade pundits, as the film collected over Rs. 100 crore gross, despite being made on a shoestring budget of Rs. 50 lakhs. On BookMyShow, the film trended for about two months, selling about 1.6 million tickets.
Laalo – Shree Krishna Sada Sahaayate is a devotional drama film directed by Ankit Sakhiya and stars Reeva Rachh, Shruhad Goswami, Karan Joshi, Mishty Kadecha, and others in key roles. It’s been over two months since the film hit the big screens, but as of now, there is no clarity regarding its digital platform or streaming date.
Audiences who got to know about this sleeper hit have been eagerly waiting for its OTT release date. Initially, Laalo – Shree Krishna Sada Sahaayate struggled at the box office, but later saw a humongous upward tick in ticket sales, riding on glowing word of mouth, and emerged as the highest-grossing Gujarati film of all time.
Since the movie turned out to be a golden goose, it’s evident that the makers would have received solid offers for its OTT rights, and they should try to release it in other languages as well to reach a wider audience.
Laalo – Shree Krishna Sada Sahaayate is about a rickshaw driver who gets trapped inside a secluded farmhouse and faces his haunting past, as visions of Lord Krishna guide him through a transformative journey of redemption and inner healing.
