‘God of Masses’ Balakrishna’s dream project Aditya 999 is a sequel to his cult classic Aditya 369, which also holds the distinction of being the first Telugu film based on time travel.
The 1991 film was re-released in April 2025 and is now back in the news as it has found a place in the Amazon Prime Video catalogue. Until now, the film was available only on ETV Win, but with its debut on the widely popular OTT platform, it is expected to gain wider traction.
The film was helmed by legendary director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, with Jandhyala contributing to the dialogues. Mohini, Amrish Puri, Chandramohan, Allu Ramalingaiah, Brahmanandam, and others played key roles in this ahead-of-its-time film.
Balakrishna impressed audiences in dual roles, while the movie featured music composed by Ilaiyaraaja. Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under Sridevi Movies produced the flick.
