Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara was released amid very good hype. However, the film received below-par reviews right from the premiere shows in overseas. The movie is based on the anti-Hindi movement that took place in Tamil Nadu long ago.

With weak word of mouth, the film failed to make the most of the Pongal holiday advantage. So far, it has collected only Rs. 38 crores gross in Tamil Nadu. Considering the huge stakes involved, the box office numbers are underwhelming.

The film is expected to wrap up most of its business by this weekend and is heading towards a big flop. Sreeleela played the female lead, while Ravi Mohan appeared as the antagonist. Produced by Dawn Pictures, the film has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar.
