Tamil period action drama Parasakthi released in theatres during the Sankranthi festival season but ended up as a box office failure. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead and is directed by Sudha Kongara, with Sreeleela as the female lead. It began streaming on ZEE5 from February 7, 2026 in multiple languages, including Telugu.
For those unaware, the film cleared censorship in India with 25 cuts due to objectionable scenes, violence, and strong language. The edited version was released in Indian theatres, while the uncut version was screened in overseas markets such as the UK and a few other regions.
ZEE5 has now also released the uncut version (Tamil-only) on OTT in India, allowing viewers to watch the portions that were removed from the domestic theatrical cut. It remains to be seen how audiences respond to this version on streaming.
Atharva, Ravi Mohan, Dev Ramnath, Prithvi Rajan, Guru Somasundaram, Basil Joseph, and Papri Ghosh play supporting roles. The film is produced by Dawn Pictures and marks the 100th film for composer GV Prakash Kumar.
