The kind of hit Bollywood has been waiting for has finally come. King Khan Shahrukh’s Pathaan, which was released yesterday, opened to earth-shattering responses across the globe. The movie received positive reviews from critics, and word of mouth has also been highly favorable.
The news is that the spy action thriller dethroned KGF 2’s opening collections and became the highest opener for a Bollywood flick. As per the news, Pathaan minted a whopping 55 crore nett from its Hindi version on day one.
This is an exemplary feat considering the fact that the movie was released on a working day. KGF 2 (53.95 crs), War (51.6 crs), and Thugs of Hindustan (50.75 crs) occupy the second, third, and fourth spots now.
Today being a national holiday, the movie is on course to cross the magical 100 crores mark within two days, making it the first Hindi film to do so. Siddarth Anand directed Pathaan. Deepika Padukone is the female lead, and John Abraham played the baddie.
