Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM and star actor Pawan Kalyan approached the Delhi High Court today after noticing that his name and photos were being used online without permission. The court has directed social media platforms and online companies to remove such content once Pawan Kalyan submits the details.
This incident shows how common identity misuse has become for celebrities in the digital space. Several other Telugu actors have faced similar issues. Jr NTR moved the court after finding his images used on various platforms without approval. Nagarjuna obtained legal protection when unauthorised photos surfaced online. Chiranjeevi secured a court order stopping multiple accounts from misusing his name and voice, while Mohan Babu also acted against the misuse of his identity.
This trend is not limited to Tollywood. Many Bollywood actors have approached courts to stop fake promotions, deepfake videos and unauthorised merchandise that use their name or image. With the rise of AI tools and fast-spreading digital content, such misuse has become more frequent.
As more celebrities take legal steps, personality rights are gaining importance. Courts are responding quickly and asking platforms to act fast, showing a stronger push to protect public figures from online misuse.
