Ram Charan’s highly anticipated Peddi was released five days ago, and its opening weekend collections are impressive. Despite receiving a few negative reviews, the film has managed to hold its ground impressively on Monday, surprising many trade observers.
Collections in several regions have been better than expected. Over the last 24 hours alone, Peddi reportedly sold around 1.74 lakh tickets on BookMyShow. Interestingly, the film is performing better in Andhra Pradesh than in Telangana.
Reducing ticket prices could help attract even more footfalls in the coming days. A few single screens and multiplexes in Telangana have already lowered their ticket rates to regular levels. If the same approach is adopted across the remaining regions of the Telugu states, it could further boost the film’s theatrical run.
Peddi has now crossed 5.3 million tickets sold across BookMyShow and District. With strong buzz still surrounding the film and no major competition arriving this week, it appears well positioned to continue its dominance at the box office.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru, Peddi stars Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Boman Irani in key roles. AR Rahman has composed the music for this pan-Indian rural sports drama.
