Today is a special day for all the fans of legendary yesteryear thespian and former Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao. On the occasion of Sr. NTR’s 100th birth anniversary, the government of India has honored him by releasing the Rs 100 commemorative coin at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi this morning. President Draupadi Murmu unveiled this special commemorative coin.
This special photo moment was captured when the Nandamuri and Nara families were present at the coin launch event. Several prominent members of both the families graced the event and shared the photograph along with the honourable President. NTR’s son-in-law and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu, NTR’s sons Nandamuri Balakrishna and Nandamuri Ramakrishna, daughter Daggubati Purandeswari and several others can be seen in along with their family members.
The commemorative Rs 100 coin has a diameter of 44 mm, and is made of 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel and 5% zinc. While the Ashoka Chakra is featured on one side of the coin, the other side features NT Ramarao’s portrait along with the inscription Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Satajayanti in Hindi. The years 1923-2023 are imprinted on the coin to mark NTR’s centenary birth anniversary celebrations.
