Mani Ratnam’s ambitious historical magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan 2, continues to perform well at the box office worldwide. Thanks to the steady performance by the film’s Tamil version, PS2 has grossed over Rs 280 crore and is all set to surpass the Rs 300 crore gross milestone.

Now, Ponniyin Selvan 2 has achieved a mammoth feat. This second installment of Kalki’s silver screen adaptation has now attained an 8.3 rating on the world’s most popular movie database, IMDb. The epic Chola tale has even overpowered the recent Hindi biggies such as Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.

While Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is rated 7.2 on IMDb, Pathaan stands number three with a rating of 7. Ranbir Kapoor’s Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar (6.6) and Priyanka Chopra’s Citadel (6.5) are the other major projects featuring Hindi film stars among the 5 highest rated movies on IMDb.
