National Award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut, who once ruled the roost at the box office, has lately been struggling to draw crowds to theatres. Her new film Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, based on the Mumbai 26/11 attacks at Cama Hospital, released yesterday to a shocking response.
According to trade reports, the movie earned just Rs. 1 crore nett on its opening day. What makes this number even more disappointing is that it has come despite a Buy One Get One offer. The offer has been extended till the weekend, but even that isn’t helping the film.
Kangana’s script choices of late haven’t been great, and fans continue to wait for her comeback. Manoj Tapadia is the writer and director of this thriller, which also stars Girija Oak, Smita Tambe, and Esha Dey in key roles. Kangana is one of the producers.
