Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s Tejas is now out in theatres. The action thriller directed by Sarvesh Mewara registered a poor opening. Kangana has now posted a video on her social profiles requesting the audience to come to the theatres.

Kangana said, “Bollywood hasn’t recovered completely post-COVID. The majority of films are not given a chance by the audience. I understand that in this day and age, everyone has a mobile phone and a TV at home. But community viewing in theatres is an essential part of our civilization. If you have liked films like Uri, Mary Kom, and Neerja, then you would surely love Tejas.”

She also came up with the caption, “Even before COVID, theatrical footfalls were dipping drastically post COVID, it has become seriously rapid. Many theatres are shutting down, and even after free tickets and many reasonable offers, drastic footfall decline is continuing. Requesting people to watch films in theatres and enjoy with family and friends or else they ( theatres) won’t be able to survive.”

These words from Kangana Ranaut didn’t sit well with netizens. A few started sharing the old tweets of the actress in which she asked the audience to boycott Bollywood completely. Netizens are commenting that the audience boycotted Kangana and not Bollywood. A few wrote that films like Jawan, Gadar 2, Pathaan, Rocky Aur Ranii Kii Prem Kahani, and Gangubhai Kathiawadi have done exceptionally well, which were released after COVID-19.
