Maidaan is one film that is being raved about by whoever watches it on the big screens. Though the reviews are glowing, sadly, the collections have a sad story to tell.
The film is the lowest Eid earner and has already been withdrawn from several theatres. When asked about Maidaan’s poor performance, popular critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh says that the release time was wrong.
The critic adds that no one in India would love to watch a serious film on Eid. Also, producer Boney Kapoor’s decision to release the film alongside Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was a big mistake.
The poor promotions were one of the reasons, as not many even knew when Maidaan was releasing in the first place, said Taran Adarsh in an interview. Maidaan had Ajay Devgan and Priyamani in lead roles.
