The Indian film exhibition industry suffering over Rs 10,000 crore loss due to the lockdown, none of the governments are giving any clarity on the reopen of the single screens and multiplexes. On the other hand, the state and central governments have given permissions to reopen the malls, bars, restaurants, gyms, temples and all other public hotspots across the country in a phase-wise manner.
There has been a nationwide demand for the reopening of theaters for the last couple of months. Tollywood director Nag Ashwin too has joined the demand and voiced his feelings in a mild manner on Twitter.
Nag Ashwin said that with all the business places like malls and restaurants etc given permission to reopen, it feels about time even movie theaters open. “Can’t wait to mask up and watch movies the way they are meant to be watched…not pause, fast-forward, rewind…” he tweeted.
Nag Ashwin is currently busy with the pre-production formalities for his highly-anticipated sci-fi thriller featuring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. The film will be getting a massive release across the world in 2022.
I'm all for safety, but with gyms, bars, restaurants, malls, temples, bus, train, metro, flights open, it feels about time even movie theaters open…cant wait to mask up and watch movies the way they are meant to be watched…not pause, fast-forward, rewind…
