Premalu became a blockbuster in Mollywood and went on to win a strong following beyond Kerala. Now, many have noticed that the Hindi version of Premalu has been removed from JioHotstar, and there is an interesting reason behind the move.
Many may not be aware that the Hindi remake of Premalu is currently in the works. Titled Prem Keetanu, the film stars Veer Pahariya and Aafiya Sayed in the lead roles and is directed by Apoorv Singh Karki. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on October 2, 2026.
As the remake is gearing up for its theatrical release, the makers have made the original Hindi version of Premalu unavailable on JioHotstar. The move is believed to be aimed at keeping the Hindi-dubbed version of the original away from audiences ahead of the remake’s release.
The promotional campaign for Prem Keetanu is set to begin from today. The film is produced by Gaurav Verma under Avanika Films in association with Phars Films, while Bhavana Studios is credited as the official rights holder. With the promotions now beginning, it remains to be seen how the Hindi remake fares at the box office.
