Telugu producer Srinivasa Kumar, widely known as SKN, stirred controversy recently with his comments about Telugu-speaking heroines at the pre-release event of Return of the Dragon. He remarked, “I learned what happens if we encourage Telugu-speaking girls as heroines,” which sparked divided reactions on the internet.
Today, SKN released a video to clarify his statement. He emphasised that he has been a strong advocate for encouraging Telugu girls to enter the film industry as heroines. He mentioned that he has already introduced 8 talented individuals to the industry and plans to introduce 25 more Telugu girls across various film crafts through his upcoming projects.
Addressing the controversy, the Baby producer explained that his comment was meant to be lighthearted. He urged the public not to misunderstand it and asked not to create misleading headlines. The internet’s response to this clarification remains to be seen.
Hi everyone, Namaste. I am one of the few producers who have introduced Many Telugu actresses to the industry. A lighthearted comment I made recently was misunderstood, leading to unnecessary headlines with incorrect meanings.
To clarify, I have introduced 8 talented individuals… pic.twitter.com/raWN8Suvpk
