This week is going to be a treat for Telugu and Hindi audiences with HIT 3 and Raid 2. HIT 3, headlined by Nani, is carrying superb hype, while the Ajay Devgn-led Raid 2 is also on track to achieve a very good opening. Interestingly, the makers of Raid 2 and HIT 3 didn’t have any story planned for the second and third parts while making their predecessors, Raid 1 and HIT 2.
During HIT 3 promotions, Nani said, “I just played a cameo as Arjun Sarkaar at the end of HIT 2, so that the film ends on a high note. We didn’t have any story on our minds for the third installment while making HIT 2. Months after its release, Sailesh came up with a good story, and that’s when I gave my nod. If not, HIT 3 would have never happened.”
Raid 2 director Raj Kumar Gupta told Pink Villa, “We didn’t intend to make Raid 2 while making Raid. Once the first film succeeded, everyone was inclined towards exploring the world and characters. Our idea was to find a good story and then construct a brilliant screenplay. We spent almost a year and a half on the screenplay. When everyone loved what was developed, Raid 2 came into the picture.”
Tollywood had only a handful of successful films this year, and the exhibitors across the Telugu states are suffering due to lack of notable releases. The situation is more or less the same in Bollywood too, with many movies failing to put up a respectable total. Hence, all eyes are on the box office performance of HIT 3 and Raid 2.
