Though Raj Nidimoru hails from Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh, the acclaimed filmmaker has predominantly worked in Bollywood. He has contributed as a writer and director to several Hindi films and shows. Along with his friend DK (Krishna D.K.), he has delivered many successful projects. The duo has also incorporated multiple references to Megastar Chiranjeevi in their works.
When asked about it in an interview, Raj Nidimoru replied, “We used Chiranjeevi garu’s songs in Guns & Gulaabs and Go Goa Gone. In the former, we had a Telugu character named Athmaram who runs a hotel in North India. When we got the opportunity to work on shows, we decided that characters should speak their own languages instead of sticking only to Hindi.”
He added, “We wanted to cast actors from across India and allow them to speak their native languages. It opened up the platform for us to cast talent from all parts of the country. In The Family Man 3, we included the Cinema Bandi connection. That’s our tribute to our mother tongue.”
