A documentary on Rajamouli’s film journey titled Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli was dropped on Netflix yesterday. The clips from this documentary are going viral on social media. In his conversation with famous journalist Anupama Chopra, the maverick director made a sensational statement, which is sure to raise eyebrows.
Rajamouli said, “As young kids, we learned Kauravas are bad and Pandavas are good. Ravana is bad. Rama is good. But as you grow up, you read more into it, that’s not so simple. I like Ravana more than Lord Ram. He is a fantastic character. It is quite complicated. I like my villains to be very, very strong. Defeating them should be a very tough job.”
On the professional front, Rajamouli’s next film is with Superstar Mahesh Babu. The tent-pole film will be a globe-trotting action adventure and is said to be set against the forests in Africa. KL Narayana of Durga Arts will bankroll the biggie. The shooting is expected to kickstart later this year.
