Actress Paayal Rajput’s long-delayed film, Rakshana, is finally out of cold storage after almost 5 years and is gearing up for its theatrical release. Soon after the film’s teaser launch, Paayal took to X and revealed that she was being blackmailed by Rakshana makers for not attending the movie’s promotions. Paayal went on to reveal that the makers have not cleared her pending remuneration and are releasing the film without her consent. Paayal concluded her tweet saying that she will go legal if Rakshana makers don’t stop harassing her.
In a counter, Sri Prandeep Thakore, the producer and director of Rakshana, filed a complaint against Paayal Rajput with the Telugu Film Producer’s Council. In his complaint, Prandeep Thakore alleged that Paayal is refusing to cooperate and participate in the promotions even though he is ready to clear her pending remuneration of Rs 6 lakhs. We will have to wait and see if this dispute will be resolved amicably with TFPC’s intervention.
Rakshana has Paayal Rajput playing a cop. The film is an investigative thriller based on real-life incidents. Mahathi Swara Sagar is the film’s music composer.
