Actress Rakul Preet has had a mixed 2019. While her Telugu and Tamil releases like Manmadhudu 2, Dev and NGK ended up as flops, her Bollywood films, De De Pyaar De and Marjaavaan, were hit and average respectively at the box-office.
Rakul will kick-start 2020 with a quirky Hindi romantic entertainer, titled Shimla Mirchi. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on January 3. Interestingly, Shimla Mirchi was completed way back in 2015 and couldn’t see the light of day till date due to financial constraints.
Shimla Mirchi also stars Rajkummar Rao and Hema Malini in lead roles. Ramesh Sippy, the director of the iconic Bollywood blockbuster Sholay, has directed Shimla Mirchi.
