For the last couple of months, several family members of the first Telugu freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimhareddy have been protesting against Sye Raa’s hero Chiranjeevi and producer Ram Charan. The protestors alleged that Sye Raa’s makers had assured them financial help before the making of the movie and that they have now gone back on their word.
Breaking his silence on the controversy finally, Ram Charan said during the film’s theatrical trailer launch event that he doesn’t want to limit a legendary freedom fighter like Uyyalawada Narasimhareddy to just his family.
“As per a Supreme Court’s order, the life of any person who lived before 100 years becomes history and a biopic can be made on such people by anyone. I will surely do something for Uyyalawada Narasimhareddy’s birth place and the villagers. I would be dishonoring his sacrifice for the country if I limited him to just his family,” Charan said.
Sye Raa is directed by Surender Reddy. The film is hitting theaters on October 2nd amid high expectations.
