Ramayana Teaser: Early Reactions Hail Its Scale and Visual Grandeur

The epic Ramayana, one of India’s most revered mythological texts, is now being adapted into a feature film titled Ramayana, mounted on a massive scale to bring its timeless life lessons to a new generation. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Sri Ram, the film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra.

A special showcase offering a glimpse into the world of Ramayana was recently held in Los Angeles, USA. In a separate event, members of the Indian media got an exclusive first look at the teaser in 3D during a screening in Mumbai, ahead of its official release on Hanuman Jayanti.

The early response has been nothing short of impressive. Those who witnessed the preview have praised the film’s scale, calling it truly grand, while the visuals are said to rival top-tier Hollywood productions. The background score, too, has struck a chord, adding weight to the overall experience. All in all, the teaser has received a strong thumbs up, setting the tone for what’s to come.

The Ramayana teaser is set to premiere today at 10 AM on YouTube. It will also be screened in select theatres across the country, offering audiences a chance to catch a glimpse of the spectacle on the big screen.

Alongside Ranbir Kapoor, the film features Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and Yash as Ravana. The ensemble also includes Sunny Deol, Vivek Oberoi, and Ravi Dubey in key roles. Backed by Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG, and co-produced by Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the film is being crafted on an unprecedented scale.

The music is composed by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, with the screenplay penned by Shridhar Raghavan. Designed as a grand IMAX cinematic experience, Ramayana is slated for a worldwide release during Diwali 2026.
