Dhurandhar 2 has made waves globally by breaking long standing box office records in North America. By surpassing the numbers previously held by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, the film has once again highlighted the growing global reach of Indian cinema. The achievement is being seen as a major moment for the industry in 2026.

Reacting to the milestone, Rana Daggubati said it feels good to finally see it happen a decade later and called it a positive sign for the industry. He believes filmmakers are still only touching the tip of the iceberg and that there is much more potential waiting to be explored. According to him, different kinds of cinema are now finding recognition on a global scale.

Rana said local Indian stories are connecting with audiences worldwide because they carry a deep human understanding. While there will always be massive hits like Baahubalis and Dhurandhars, he believes cinema with a personal emotional core is what truly resonates across borders.

He also noted that many people know more about American history than Indian history because of the films Hollywood has produced over the years. Rana believes this is the right time for Indian filmmakers to discover the best cinematic language to tell authentic Indian stories and take them to audiences across the world.
