Ranabaali team has come up with a four-episode documentary-style series to effectively communicate what the movie has in store for the audience. The first episode revealed that Ranabaali is about the man-made famine brought by the British by stealing food grains in the Madras Presidency that led to the death of one crore Indians. It also offered clarity that the movie isn’t about the freedom struggle.
In the second episode unveiled some time ago, Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika revealed another interesting element. They explained that the British established the railway system in India not for the betterment of the country’s infrastructure but to transport our grains, spices, cotton, and gold to the ports as quickly as possible, and that this fact was nowhere mentioned in history.
Vijay added that the Britishers wrote the history books and hence the syllabus was theirs, omitting the crucial details. Rashmika said that just knowing a little more in-depth about what actually happened at that time hit her like a storm. The movie, directed by Rahul Sankrityan, releases on October 16.
