Ram Pothineni is making his directorial debut with his 23rd film, tentatively titled RAPO23. The actor is not only directing and playing the lead role but has also penned the story for the project. Produced by his brother Krishna Pothineni under Rapo Cinematics, the film is being made as a large-scale neo-noir psychological action thriller.

The latest update is that Ram Pothineni completed a 24-hour shooting stretch during the film’s recent Pondicherry schedule while simultaneously handling the lead role and direction. The team shot for 9 days on a massive setup before rains disrupted the schedule. The makers are expected to return to Pondicherry soon to complete the remaining portions.

Sam CS is composing the music, while Thirunavukarasu, popularly known as Thiru, is handling the cinematography. Peter Hein is choreographing the action, with A.S. Prakash serving as the production designer.

With RAPO23 marking Ram Pothineni’s first attempt at direction, the film has already generated curiosity. The makers have described it as a psychological action thriller with a neo-noir backdrop and an original story.
