Vikram Sahidev, son of producer Lagadapati Sridhar, is gearing up for the release of his rustic action drama Anakapalli, which is slated to hit theatres tomorrow. Directed by Khagesh Tammineni and written by Trinadha Rao Nakkina, the film has taken an unusual route ahead of its release.
Producer Lagadapati Sridhar confirmed that ‘Anakapalli’ will release only in Anakapalli on August 7, 2026. The makers decided to assess the audience response before expanding the film to other regions across the Telugu states and Tamil Nadu. It is a rare release strategy, especially for a theatrical release.
Interestingly, with less than a day left for the release, advance bookings have yet to open even in Anakapalli. It remains to be seen how the film performs with this experimental rollout and whether a positive response will pave the way for a wider release.
Apart from Vikram Sahidev, the film also stars Sandhya Vasishta, Tarak Ponnappa, Indraja, Absar, Srinivas Vadlamani, and Naidu Kandregula in key roles. Produced by Kandregula Naidu and Trinadha Rao Nakkina, Anakapalli has music composed by DavZand.
