Salaar producer Vijay Kiragandur is promoting the film by interacting with Bollywood media. Recently, he stated that their team chose December 22 for astrological reasons. In a recent interview, the producer revealed why the film received an A (Adults Only) certificate.

Vijay Kiragandur said, “We were expecting a U/A certificate as we want family audience to come to the theatres. The censor board explained to us that the rules have now changed, and hence, we are okay with the certification. Salaar was granted an A certificate for its intense action sequences, and there is no vulgarity in the film.”

He further said,” The CBFC suggested a few cuts for U/A, but Neel was against them. A few scenes that add to the character building of a violent man will lose their impact if they are toned down. Recently, Animal also got an A certificate and is doing well. We discussed this with our stakeholders, who are absolutely fine with A certification. They, in fact, said that A rating would attract more audiences.”
