Tamil star Vijay’s popularity has shot up to the next level with Sarkar. After a record breaking opening, Sarkar has now surpassed the coveted 100 crore worldwide gross milestone in just 2 days, according to the film’s makers. With Sarkar, Vijay has scored his 6th 100 crore movie.
Sarkar released amid an unprecedented hype on November 6. Although critics gave mixed reviews to the film, fans lapped it up big-time and are thronging the cinemas in huge numbers this Diwali season. The film is expected to end up as Vijay’s all-time highest grossing movie, beating Mersal. This high-budget political drama is directed by AR Murugadoss.
