After Krish, yet another Telugu filmmaker is all set to make his debut in Bollywood this year. Sekhar Suri, who had earlier made films like A Film by Aravind, Three and Aravind 2, is directing a film titled ‘Guns of Benaras’. Karan Nath and Nathalia Kaur are playing the lead roles in this film.
Guns of Benaras is reportedly the remake of Dhanush’s Polladhavan, which itself was remade in Telugu as Kurrodu. Varun Sandesh and Neha Sharma had played the lead roles in the Telugu version. The shooting of ‘Guns of Benaras’ is nearing completion and most part of the film has been shot in Varanasi, Mumbai and Goa. Another South Indian actor, Ganesh Venkatraman is playing an important role and it’s also his debut film in Bollywood. Abhimanyu Singh and Vinod Khanna will be seen in other crucial roles.
Sekhar Suri’s last Telugu film, Aravind 2 had released back in March, 2013 and it had Kamal Kamaraju, Adonica Rodricks and Sree in lead roles; however, it failed to make a mark at the box-office. Let’s wait and watch if his debut in Bollywood changes his fortunes.
