Ramya Krishna’s transition from being one of the top lead actresses in the ’90s to being the first choice to play important supporting roles these days couldn’t have been more smooth. Some of her roles in films like Ammoru, Narasimha, Baahubali have made a huge difference to her career, and today, she has been flooded with quite a few interesting roles, right from playing Jayalalitha in a web series to playing a former porn star in Super Deluxe.

In a recent interview where she opened up about her career, Ramya Krishna made a surprising confession that she was not all comfortable in few scenes while shooting for Narasimha, where she played the antagonist opposite Rajinikanth. As Neelambari, Ramya Krishna redefined the kind of roles written for women; however, she said that she would have liked to played Soundarya’s role.

“It got me the kind of popularity that eluded me for 15 years. Given a choice, I would have opted for Soundarya’s role. I was not at all happy with some scenes, because they showcased me as too arrogant. I cringed during the scene where I place my footwear near Soundarya’s face. But, I believed in the director’s vision,” Ramya Krishna said in the interview. Looking back, no one could have played the role in a better way, but her confession proves why even the most stunning performances have unpleasant backstories.
