A renowned movie critic and prolific journalist Gudipudi Srihari (88) passed away on Monday in Hyderabad at his residence. He worked for famous newspapers like The Hindu and Eenadu. He contributed a lot to Sitara, a popular film magazine from Eenadu.
Srihari is very well known for his film criticism and contributed to the movie industry for almost 5 decades. Recently the veteran critic’s wife died and from then he is said to be mentally weak. Srihari has a daughter and a son. His last rites will be performed once his son returns from foreign.
Megastar Chiranjeevi tweeted that Srihari’s constructive criticism of his films helped him to grow as an actor and conveyed his condolences. Gudipudi Srihari’s death is undoubtedly a huge loss to the field of journalism. The film fraternity and the media expressed their deep condolences on the journalist’s sudden demise.
