Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki is now out in theatres. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film is a social comedy-drama. In a recent interview, Shah Rukh Khan said he didn’t know much about the Dunki journey (an illegal way of crossing borders) before starting the project. He said that the concept was very new to him.
SRK stated, “Raju sir and I wanted to do a film for a long time. Unless Raju sir gets things right about the story, he won’t start a project. Raju sir opined that Dunki would be the apt title for the film. I felt it very good. We were sure that people might not understand what Dunki meant. But that doesn’t matter. Even people didn’t know the meaning of PK when the film was released.”
Shah Rukh Khan further said, “I really like the title. I am one for interesting titles. Raju Hirani sir is known for his interesting films and titles. It really made me very happy that the film is named Dunki.” The movie stars Taapsee Pannu as the female lead. Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Grover, and Vikram Kochhar played vital roles.
