Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie, Dunki, is being eagerly awaited by his fans and trade circles. Dunki marks SRK’s third release after the two industry hits, Jawan and Pathaan. Directed by acclaimed Hindi filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, the film is scheduled to open in cinemas on December 21.
Dunki’s theatrical trailer was launched yesterday to a record-breaking reception. The trailer created a new record by clocking over 58 million YouTube views within a day. Buoyed by this massive success, SRK held an #AskSRK chat session with his fans and followers on X this evening.
During the Q&A session, a fan asked SRK, “Sir “Dunki” ka matlb kya hota hai? (sic)” – Sir, what is the meaning of Dunki?” And SRK’s reply to his fan will end all the speculations about Dunki’s title and plotline. “Dunki is actually the Donkey Journey across borders without permits. In punjabi dialect they pronounce it Dunki,” said the King Khan. In another tweet, Shah Rukh also revealed that he will be seen as an army man for a brief period in the movie. Dunki has Taapsee playing the film’s leading lady.
