After the success of Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan is set to work on his new film Lalkara. The sports drama, based on the life of Lala Amarnath, will be directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, who earlier made Lagaan with Aamir.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the movie was originally supposed to star Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan. It is said that Rajkumar Hirani initially planned the biopic with SRK after Sanju.
However, the movie didn’t materialize due to COVID, and now it is moving forward with Aamir. Reportedly, Hirani will be credited as the writer of Lalkara. Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment will produce the film.
