Shocking: Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar is a disaster in Japan

Dhurandhar has suffered a shocking setback in Japan. The big-budget action drama, directed by Aditya Dhar, was released across nearly 80 screens in the country on July 10.

Trade reports suggest that fewer than 900 viewers watched the film on day one, making it one of the weakest openings for a heavily promoted Indian film in the Japanese market.

Given the scale of the release, the opening numbers have come as a major surprise to the trade. The film carried decent expectations ahead of its release, especially after generating strong buzz in India.

However, the Japanese audience did not seem to connect with the film, resulting in poor occupancy across most locations. Stay tuned for more.
