Sivakarthikeyan’s period action drama Parasakthi was initially announced for a grand theatrical release on January 10, 2025, as a Pongal special. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film is based on true incidents related to the Hindi opposition movement in Tamil Nadu. However, the release plans ran into trouble as the censor board raised objections to certain political portions.

The film was then sent to the Revising Committee, and the suspense surrounding its release has finally been put to rest, with the CBFC issuing a U/A certificate. The approved runtime is 2 hours and 43 minutes. With this, all hurdles have been cleared, and the film will hit the big screens as originally scheduled. There is no information yet regarding the Telugu version.

Sreeleela plays the female lead, while Ravi Mohan essays the antagonist. The film also features Rana Daggubati, Atharvaa, and others in key roles. Parasakthi is produced by Aakash Baskaran under the Dawn Pictures banner, with music composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar. As of now, Parasakthi enjoys a solo release in Tamil, and if reports are good, the film can become a big hit, utilizing the festival advantage.
