Spider-Man Brand New Day Breaks Avengers Endgame Record; Russo Bros Respond

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has created history at the box office. Starring Tom Holland and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film has broken the domestic opening weekend record previously held by Avengers: Endgame.

The film collected $360 million during its opening weekend in North America, surpassing Avengers: Endgame’s $357 million record, which had stood since 2019.

To celebrate the milestone, Joe and Anthony Russo, directors of Avengers: Endgame and the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, shared a special artwork and congratulated the cast and crew of Spider-Man: Brand New Day on Instagram.

This has become a tradition in Hollywood, with filmmakers congratulating the team behind a film whenever it breaks a major box office record.

Apart from its domestic feat, Spider-Man: Brand New Day also created history in India by collecting Rs. 309 crore during its opening weekend. It set new records for the biggest opening day and biggest opening weekend ever for a Hollywood film in the country.
