SS Rajamouli is taking an old-school approach to the global release of his much-awaited film Varanasi. While AI-generated voices are increasingly being used for dubbing, Rajamouli has reportedly opted for real voice artists for the film’s versions across around 50 languages.

His team is said to be auditioning nearly 1,500 voice artists to find the right voices for the characters. The film is planned for release in around 120 countries, making the dubbing process a massive task.

With the shoot still underway, preparing so many language versions could take considerable time. However, Rajamouli’s focus is clear: to preserve the emotions, expressions, and performances in every language.

Starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, Varanasi is scheduled to hit cinemas on April 7, 2027.
