Star Heroes’ OTT Clash: Mark and 45 Hit OTT After Theatrical Face-Off

This Friday, the Kannada OTT space saw a rare double release as two major Sandalwood films made their digital debut. Kiccha Sudeepa’s Mark and the multi-starrer 45, featuring Shiva Rajkumar and Upendra, have officially moved from theatres to streaming platforms.

Both films shared the same release date (December 25, 2025) in cinemas and they arrived on OTT with good buzz, but their release strategies are different. Mark is now streaming on JioHotstar and is available with a Telugu audio version along with the original Kannada track. On the other hand, 45 has premiered on ZEE5 but is currently available only in Kannada.

Although both films had theatrical releases in Telugu, they failed to make a strong impact at the box office. With their OTT premieres, the focus has now shifted to how audiences respond online.

Directed by Vijay Kartikeyaa, Mark is an action thriller, while 45 marks the directorial debut of music composer Arjun Janya. Both films received mixed reviews during their theatrical run. It remains to be seen whether they can find better acceptance on OTT platforms.
