Legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s ambitious historical magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan, is getting bigger and better with each passing day. Already, this epic Tamil-Hindi bilingual features prominent stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Vijay Sethupathi, Mohan Babu, Jayam Ravi and Keerthy Suresh in key roles.
Now, the latest updates coming in from Kollywood circles reveal that star heroine Trisha is in talks for a special role in Ponniyin Selvan. Details about her role are kept under wraps, and an official announcement is awaited to confirm the buzz. Trisha had earlier played one of the main leads in Mani’s Yuva.
Ponniyin Selvan’s regular shooting will commence from December this year. Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies will bankroll the project in association with Lyca Productions. Mani’s long-time collaborator AR Rahman will compose the soundtrack.
