The radical transformation of Sunil from a bumbling comedy artiste to a hero makes for a very interesting study. Sunil used to weigh 108 Kilos when he was a comedian but he now has a lean and mean muscular frame. His remuneration not very long ago was about 15 lakhs per movie but sources say that he is asking about 3 Crores per movie now. Two out of his three movies as a hero, Andala Ramudu and Maryada Ramanna, were successful and Sunil is hopeful of continuing that success with Poola Rangadu.
When asked about this change, Sunil says that a strong determination to prove himself was the most significant motivator. He also credits his directors for having faith in him and for casting him in lead roles.
