Suriya’s latest outing, Karuppu (Veerabhadrudu in Telugu), provides a massive relief to moviebuffs who have been eagerly waiting to see a gripping mass entertainer in theaters. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film opened to an impressive Rs. 30 crore gross worldwide on its first day.
The day 2 collections are projected to be even better, largely thanks to highly positive word-of-mouth publicity. The BookMyShow ticket sales over the last 24 hours offer solid proof of this phenomenal audience reception. In Telugu states alone, the movie clocked 99.83K tickets, which translates to nearly 1 lakh admissions.
Coming to the Tamil version, the sales reached a staggering 590.21K tickets. This massive surge is reportedly the second-highest ticket sales record for a Tamil movie on day 2, standing just behind Rajinikanth’s Jailer.
The day 3 box office numbers are expected to be even more monumental, putting the film on track to shatter the records of previous Suriya movies.
Trisha plays the female lead in this commercial entertainer, which is produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. The film features a vibrant soundtrack composed by rising music director Sai Abhyankkar.
